How do I join the Labour Party?

Joining the Labour Party is easy! Simply apply through the main Labour Party website. Once you’ve joined, the party will send you a membership card along with information on how to get involved.

While you’re waiting, we’d love to see you at the next meeting of the Beaconsfield Constituency Labour Party (CLP). It’s a great opportunity to meet other members, join the discussion, and start engaging with local activities. While new members can’t vote in internal elections until after 8 weeks of membership, you’re welcome to participate in debates and get to know the team.

Where and when does my local Labour Party meet?

We aim to hold at least eight meetings a year. Meetings are generally scheduled for the second Thursday of each month, although this may vary around school or religious holidays. Members will always be notified of changes well in advance.

Our constituency spans a wide area—from Denham in the east to Marlow in the west—so we rotate the location of meetings to ensure accessibility for all members. Details of each meeting, including the location, will be shared with plenty of notice. We understand that attending every meeting may not be possible for everyone, and that’s okay!

How can I raise issues for discussion at meetings?

If you have any issues that you would like to propose for discussion then please contact our Secretary, Nadeem Siddiqui on the Beaconsfield Constituency Labour Party email: labour4beaconsfield@gmail.com and the Executive will look at building this into our meetings.

What can I do to be active in my local Labour Party?

There are a range of things that you can do to help the Labour Party in relation to national and local elections, and local campaigns.   Please let us know if you are able to undertake any of the following action:  delivering leaflets; canvassing; putting up a poster in your window; putting up a notice-board in your garden; attending hustings; attending at a Polling station with a Labour rosette etc.  Your ideas and enthusiasm would be very much appreciated.

How do I work to become a Labour councillor or MP?

You need to be a member of the Labour Party for at least one year in order to become a candidate. We are hoping to stand at least one candidate in every seat at the next local election so if you’ve been a member of the Labour Party for at least a year and you’re interested in standing please do let us know.
